Apple Archives Website Updated

The Apple Archives site has been updated with the January 2012 update.  There are now well over 300 links on the website and we have begun to add more links for the February update. The Apple Archives is a Vintage Apple specific link library and contains links to Apple-1, Apple II, Apple ///, Apple IIgs and Mac 68K specific websites.  There are currently over 300 websites in the database and growing.  The entire library is maintained by hand and links…

Reddit and Wikipedia to Shutdown in SOPA Protest

Popular news website Reddit is planning on a 12 hour blackout in protest against the SOPA piracy bill that is currently being considered in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Apparently Wikipedia will be joining Reddit in that Protest as will many other websites acorss the Internet. Beijing Apple Store Pelted with Eggs as iPhone is Delayed

The Beijing Apple store has had a major debacle in its opening of sales of the new iPhone 4S there.  The store was supposed to open at 7:00 am but as the time reached 7:15, the crowds of people who had amassed waiting for the sales to begin, began chanting and hurling eggs at the store.  Swat teams were called in to control the crowd and the sale of the iPhone there halted. Big Business to spend about $19 Billion on Apple this year

A report in CIO states that Enterprise level corporations will likely put about $19 billion USD into purchases from Apple, Inc. this year according to the research firm Forrester Research.  This is nearly 20% of the corporate market and will likely increase to a total of $28 Billion USD in 2013. Kodak Sues Apple and HTC

Kodak, one the verge of being bankrupt, has filed a lawsuit against Apple and HTC suggesting that the companies have infringed on patents held the Kodak.   The patents concerned in the release from Kodak stated that Apple and HTC both infringed on: U.S. Patent No. 7,210,161 – “Automatically Transmitting Images from an Electronic Camera to a Service Provider Using a Network Configuration File” U.S. Patent No. 7,742,084 – “Network Configuration File for Automatically Transmitting Images from an Electronic Still Camera”…

New Coating Waterproofs iPhone and other Smartphones

A new coating produced by Liquipel, a company in Santa Ana, California, totally waterproofs the iphone.  The process, being displayed at CES 2012, cost $59.95 to have done, and the user must ship the iPhone to the company to have it waterproofed.  This process can be applied to any smartphone and apparently will protect the phone even if it is totally submerged in water. New Mod Allows 12 Bit VGA Color Using Carte Blance

Really Wild iPad Drop from 100,000 feet

Apple Stock Continues Upward Climb

Since reaching a low of $354.23 USD on the day that Steve Jobs died, Apple, Inc’s Stock (AAPL) price has been on a steady climb.   The stock closed at $422.40 at the market close and was trading just down from that at $422.28 USD in the after hours market.  With Apple expected to announce their 4th Qtr results on the 24th of this month, it is expected that the stock will continue this upward trend baring some unforeseen change in…
