Date: 20 June 1978
Time: 7:07 pm
The meeting got off to a flying start at 7:07 PM as we introduced ourselves. Our official membership now stands at about 64, with 31 present at this meeting. (And in the two weeks since the meeting, has increased to over 100!) Val reported that the new Call -A. P. P. L. E. “Hot Line” has been installed and that the number is 932 -6588. (Where have we heard that number before?)
This number can be called for current Apple information, answers to problems, gossip, etc. It is also equipped with our mini-modem to handle programs.(Don’t tell Ma. )
We are waiting for (and have now received) a program tape from Apple Corps of Long Beach containing 106 programs, mostly games, to be delivered to Val. Through the efforts of Val, Darrell and Ron Aldrich, we have produced “Library Paks” from the club’s library, which are offered to members at $5.00. About 50% of the new members have opted to purchase the Library Pak, and this in turn has paved the way toward commercial printing of Call-A.P.P.L.E.. Printing costs are estimated at about .02 per copy. We are also working toward being recognized as a non-profit educational group in order to take advantage of the tremendous price break in postage.
The cost of the Apple II floppy discs is $495 now, but will go up by $200 as of July 31 st. Best order now from your favorite Apple dealer. It was unanimously agreed that the club would purchase a floppy disc for Don Williams in appreciation for the fine assembly language class he presented.
