The Apple Store has been taken down in preparation for the start of the iPhone 5 pre-orders. While the phone was announced on the 12, actual shipping of the product will not begin until the 21st of the month. Also, in coordination with the outage, AT&T has a counter on their website as well. Apple is expecting that they will sell over 5 million units of the new iPhone 5 over the first three days they are available. http://store.apple.com/
The Apple store went down at 12:00pm ET today. No known reason for the outage is available, however, the message on the website circulates through multiple languages pointing to the possibility that it is a global outage for a possible website update or change. The Apple Online Store is now reporting a March 19th Delivery date for the New iPad. The New iPad or iPad 3 was introduced this week in an event in San Francisco. While the pricing of the units remained the same, the speed of the graphics in the machines was increased and the display changed to a Retina display allowing display of 2048 by 1536 pixel resolution.
