New iPhone to be Announced October 4

Apple, Inc. has sent out invitations to the media for the upcoming October 4th announcement of their latest rendition of the iPhone.  The iPhone 5 as it has been dubbed in most circles is expected to be much sleeker, faster and have more battery life according to reports around the web.   There is also a rumor that the new iPhone will be voice controlled.  This rumor does not seem too far fetched since most of the software has been available for some time on both the previous models of the iPhone.

This will be the first time that Apple has held an announcement or event at their corporate headquarters in Cupertino, California.  The event is scheduled for 10am at 1 Infinite Loop.  Now that Steve Jobs has resigned, this will be the first time that new CEO Tim Cook will headline an event such as this.
