This past month, Paulo Garcia, curator and admin of the retro computing related Vintage is the New Old website, made the decision to cease publication. As such, the site was lost to issues related to the way some domain processors handle transfers. The site data itself was preserved by Paulo and made available to A.P.P.L.E.
We have since added the vitno.org web domain name, giving the site a proper domain name and place for holding the data for at least the next 5 years. Since the original data is available, all users who were on the Vintage is the New Old website will still be able to log into the new website. We do recommend that users who were members of the site change their passwords in order to prevent malicious logins.
While Paulo will no longer be posting or maintaining the website, the members of the website who have been posting articles or commenting on the website over the years are welcome to continue posting if so desired. We will be dealing with user registration at some point in the near future.
Please note that this effort to preserve the Vintage is the New Old website is unrelated to the old URL owner who seemingly has chosen to use the site in an attempt to garner ad clicks. Our thanks go to Paulo in helping to preserve this wonderful resource for the retro computing community and for making it available for download. No post data has been changed and the postings, resources will continue to be available into the future.
