Apple II Desktop 1.3 Alpha 7 Released

Joshua bell has announced the availability of the 7th alpha of the version 1.3 release of the Apple II Desktop graphical operating system, This latest version includes a slew of changes including the following:

General

  • Turn off mouse firmware when exiting the desktop.

DeskTop

  • Show file sizes under 10K as “#.5K” if an odd number of blocks. (#758)
  • Show “Today” for date for files modified on the current date.
  • View > by Date sort order now includes times.
  • Fix inclusion of last entry in Apple Menu.
  • Show open/close animation for windows without visible folder icons.
  • Show open/close animation for desk accessories and previews.
  • Show open animation when launching external applications.
  • “Invisible” files are now hidden.
  • Prompt to format unreadable disks when inserted.

Disk Copy

  • OK button is now disabled if there is no selection.

Desk Accessories

  • Sounds: Fix label translation.
  • Control Panel: Fix color previews of desktop pattern.
  • Print Catalog: Verify SSC, parallel, or printer card is in slot 1.
  • This Apple
    • Include IIgs banks E0/E1 in total memory count.
    • Identify Rockwell R65C02.
    • Identify The Cricket! sound/speech/clock device attached to SSC in Slot 2.
  • Image Preview
    • Right/Left Arrow keys preview next/previous image file. Hold Apple key for last/first.
    • Apple+W exits preview.
    • Super Hi-Res PIC files ($C1/$0000) can be previewed on Apple IIgs.

He has also announce that there may be a potential Beta of the program next week sometime but for now the Alpha 7 release is available for free download from the Apple II Desktop Github page at:
