iPad Mini Announcement Invites Sent Out by Apple, Inc.

Apple, Inc. sent out invitations to an October 23rd announcement event.  The event, scheduled to be held at the 1122 seat California Theatre in San Jose, has long been expected to be the introduction of the rumored iPad Mini.  Another rumor floating around is that Apple will introduce a smaller MacBook Pro at the event as well.

Thunderbolt Software Update Released by Apple

Apple has released an update to their Thunderbolt Software, bringing it to version 1.2.1. The latest version of the software adds the support for the Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter which comes as an option with the new Mac Book Pro. Apple Updates EFI Firmware on Late 2008 MacBook Pro

Apple has taken a whack at fixing the flickering of the internal display on the late 2008 MacBook Pro.  A new EFI Update for the 15 inch model is supposed to resolve this issue.  Version 2.8 of the EFI Firmware for the MacBook Pro should be available in you Software Updates or you can download it directly from the Apple Support site at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1502

Apple Japan offers free repairs for Earthquake/Tsunami damaged machines

The Apple, Inc. Japan website is offering free upgrades for all Macs, iPhones, iPads, and iTouches damaged in the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.   (http://www.apple.com/jp/support/information.html) According to the website, repairs must be requested before the end of June.  Keep in mind that their current policy is subject to be pulled at any time so be sure to get your machine in as soon as possible. Apple Releases update for Snow Leopard

Plagued by inquiries from users with issues with their new MacBook Pros, Apple, Inc. has released an update for Mac OS X intended to deal with those issues directly.  Mac OS X 10.6.7 update has come more than a month after the release of the product and is “Intended to resolve stabilitity issues” with the os.
