About the Australian Apple Review Posts
Several of the Australian Apple Review articles have been re-typeset and integrated with the main A.P.P.L.E. site as part of our push to make all material searchable and available to the general public. Many of these articles are from the old Apple II website created by Terry Allen, which originally housed the articles. There will be more coming soon as we take on the project page by page.
Original posting from the Apple II Site of Terry Allen
The Australian Apple Review was a small Apple related magazine, printed with reasonable regularity by Gareth Powell, who also printed a number of other titles at the same time such as The Australian Commodore Review. You should note that The Australian Apple Review is no longer in print.
Gareth writes for a number of major newspapers & other publications, has email newsletters & one of his major titles is The Australian Internet Directory.
He has kindly given this site permission to reprint articles from The Australian Apple Review with the following statement:
‘…Of course we would donate the text if we had it but it has gone to that great scrap heap in the sky. But you could scan it in and OCR it. That works very well and you could do that with my blessings.
Gareth…’
(email received by Terry Allen from Gareth Powell, the publisher)
Terry Allen turned his website over to A.P.P.L.E. in 2004 as he was no longer able to host or maintain the site. We have maintained the site for the past 15 years for posterity sakes but will be integrating more of the materials into the main A.P.P.L.E. website as we seek to streamline our operation and make it easier for our staff to maintain the site.
