Gerard Putter has released a new version of his Virtual II Emulator, an Apple II emulator with high quality interface and one of the most capable emulators for Mac OS X. The latest version, according to Gerard does not yet support WOZ files but is being released due to his desire to keep it functioning at near perfection:
I decided to issue a bug-fix release. The new version also has an improved way for installing the ROM files – I received quite a few questions about this, in particular by users who upgraded from an earlier version, and found that their ROM files were no longer detected.
Specific fixes included in Virtual II version 8.2 include:
- Added a menu to open the folder where the ROM files must be installed.
- In the game controller configuration, selecting the action “None” crashed the application. This has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue that caused a disk image file with the “v2d” format to be corrupted when ejecting the disk.
- Enhanced Mockingboard compatibility by increasing its interrupt frequency.
