Apple II Desktop version 1.4 Beta 1 Released

Joshua Bell has announced the immediate availability of the latest version of the Apple II Desktop project. Apple II Desktop is a graphical user interface platform for the Apple II series computers and includes an array of utilities and programming languages built into the platform.

The first beta release in the version 1.4 chain comes with a slew of updates including the following items:

DeskTop

  • Fix File > Duplicate if parent window’s icon is showing.
  • Fix mispaint when using Ctrl+X when renaming an icon.
  • Fix dragging to trash after a file move.
  • Fix Shortcuts > Add/Edit a Shortcut… radio button initialization.
  • File > New Folder, Rename, and Duplicate no longer have ellipses (…).
  • Make Apple and Shortcuts menus consistently not show separator if empty.
  • Fix IIc+ drive polling

Disk Copy

  • Fix progress bar display for large disk copies.

Desk Accessories

  • This Apple
    • Round up bank counts from Slinky memory if needed.
    • Don’t report ZIP CHIP on IIc Plus. (#795)
  • Show Image File: Don’t attempt to preview volume or folder icons.
  • Show Font File: Prevent crash if no icon is selected.
