Apple II gs System 6.0.2 Press Review

welcometo602

Since the announcement of the availability of the newly-released Apple IIgs System 6.0.2 a week ago, over 22 years since the last release, the feedback has been positively awesome from all around the world.  That is great news for our active and enthusiastic Apple II community.

CallApple.org news of the release has been featured on over 50 major blogs and related news sites with the announcement having been viewed over 800,000 times and the disk images downloaded more than 5000 times.

Such an echo has not been heard for years.  Press articles appeared in Spain, Czech Republic, France, Germany, UK, and from the USA and other countries. Writers have gained an interest in the Apple IIgs, either just discovering it or thinking about the continuation of discontinued operating systems from the original suppliers.  Even A.P.P.L.E. members from the 1980’s have reached out, stating their fond memories of the IIgs and a renewed interest in the system thanks to this update.

All major goals have been met with the release of System 6.0.2 and we currently are preparing for the next release based on the reception with which this release was met.
