ClamXav Anti-Virus Updated to 2.8.7

The ClamXav Anti-Virus software has been updated.  The latest update to the software includes a number of improvements to the software related to backups and recovery as well as being updated for Apple’s latest operating system, Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitain.

Version 2.8.7 includes the following changes:

  • Improved recognition of Time Capsule data volume
  • Improved recognition of Recovery HD
  • Added ability to reorder the items in the source list
  • Fixed ClamXav Sentry crash on OS X 10.6 when using Screenshot Plus dashboard widget
  • Temporary fix for today plugin on OS X 10.11 El Capitan
  • Fixed incompatibility with using shift key to reset preferences and cmd-shift-S to start scan from Finder
  • Fixed bug where you could add the same item to the source list multiple times
It has also been noted by the maker of ClamXav, Canimann Software Ltd., that the app is no longer available in the Mac App store.
