Do you remember the SmartportSD that Katherine Stark created about two years ago? It is based on SmartPortCFA programmed by Robert Justice and ported to Arduino hardware by Andrea Ottaviani. Unfortunately Katherine has left Facebook, but I’ll be posting on her behalf.

I tried to miniaturize this device. The program was designed for Arduino Nano, but I found that it works well on the same chip, UNO and Pro Mini. So I ported this to Pro Mini. Read my blog for details:

The PCB I designed is quite small. It looks like some kind of adapter when attached to the IIc, but it works as an SD card device by itself. I named this “SP2SD Mini”
And I completed the DIY version first and made it open source. My GitHub is below:

Last but not least, at Katherine’s idea and with the agreement of Robert and Andrea, they created a license for SmartportSD that is jointly owned by these three geniuses. Please use the program according to this license from now on:

The license for my PCB itself is under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
