No Public Funeral for Steve Jobs

While many people have been patiently waiting for the announcement of a public funeral for Steve Jobs, the likelihood of one being scheduled is looking pretty dim.  A report in the wall street journal said that the funeral was being held Friday and was a private affair.  Obviously, this was done to prevent such idiocy as the WBC protests or to prevent masses of people from descending upon the funeral procession.  However, this also would be befitting the man who never lived in a gated house and who valued his privacy.

In the meantime, most apple stores around the globe have become makeshift memorial sites for well wishers to place everything from a few flowers or apples to notes and cards.  The outpouring of thanks for Steve Jobs shows how much he actually changed people’s lives in almost every facet and location on the globe.  Yet in all of this, Steve remained a Buddhist and never really sought those things that propelled him to such super stardom.
