Gerard Putter has announced the latest release of the Virtual II Apple II Emulator for MacOS. Virtual II 13.3 is a fairly significant update and fix for the Virtual II Emulator. Changes and updates to the emulator include the following items
- Solved a compatibility issue with macOS 27 that caused some game controllers not being recognized.
- Opening and closing the game controller configuration panel could result in connection loss. This has been fixed.
- The application settings now have a section where you can modify the colors used in high resolution graphics.
- The “Legacy NTSC” setting for high resolution rendering is now obsolete, and has been removed. If this setting is in use, it is automatically converted to similar high resolution colors.
- Modified the Applescript vocabulary to match the new high resolution colors feature. A newly added command can be used to wait for a specific high resolution screen, independent of the color settings. Also, the “highres style” property now affects all open virtual machines immediately. The example Applescripts have been modified accordingly.
- Solved a few memory leaks and layout issues.
