40th Anniversary Issue of Call-A.P.P.L.E. Available for Free Download

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange, we have decided to make the current issue of Call-A.P.P.L.E. Magazine available for free download.  Some of the highlights of the issue include a variety of articles covering the history of A.P.P.L.E., the founding of The Apple Programmers and Developers Association (APDA) by A.P.P.L.E., full coverage of VCF Pacific Northwest, as well as detailed programming articles and retro Apple and Macintosh related items. Some of the authors featured in this issue, include Don Williams (founder of APDA), Bob Clardy (Founder of Synergistic Software), Dr. Marc Golombeck (Creator of the 3D Demo for the Apple II), and Fabrizio Caruso (Creator of Cross Chase). The issue also features Evan Koblentz (Director of VCF) and photos of VCF Pacific Northwest by Kevin Savetz (owner of Savetz Publishing, Atari Historian, Podcaster).

Call-A.P.P.L.E. Magazine is normally only available to our members as a benefit of membership in the A.P.P.L.E. users group.  This is a time limited release and when the next issue of the magazine is released, the 40th anniversary issue will no longer be available for free download.   Be sure and get your copy today!

Bill Martens

A.P.P.L.E. Chairman of the Board and Club president -- Bill worked for the founder, Val J. Golding and A.P.P.L.E. from 1981 to 1982. In 1999, he began archiving the materials which were distributed and sold by A.P.P.L.E.. That project led to the group that remained of A.P.P.L.E. Bill was involved in the financial industry in Tokyo and has over 20 major office infrastructure projects to his name. In March 2001, he retired to write books and to spend more time pursuing personal interests. As the president of the users group, Bill is in charge of distribution of Call-A.P.P.L.E. magazine as well as the organization of this web site. Bill currently resides in Tokyo, Japan and Shelton, Wa splitting time between the places.
