MontezumaGS is now available for the Apple IIgs!

From Riad Megueddem:

After a long period of development and testing, I’m very happy to announce the release of MontezumaGS, an Apple IIgs remaster of Montezuma’s Revenge.

The original Apple II game logic has been preserved—including movement, physics, collisions, enemies, rooms, inventory, scoring and difficulty—while the presentation has been rebuilt for the Apple IIgs:

• New 320×200 Super Hi-Res graphics
• Redesigned and animated sprites
• New title and in-game music
• Ensoniq sound effects
• Keyboard, joystick and gamepad support
• Full support for the Apple IIgs 4Play card
• Finder-launchable
• Tested successfully on several configurations and on real Apple IIgs hardware

Special thanks to:

Antoine Vignau / Brutal Deluxe Software for development tools, technical advice and real-hardware 4Play testing
Lucas Scharenbroich for the Generic Tile Engine
Jawaid Bazyar for GSSquared
• Everyone who tested the game and helped make this release possible

This has been a huge project, and I’m very proud of the result. I hope it brings back great memories—and gives the Apple IIgs community a beautiful new way to experience this classic adventure.
