New Apple IIgs Game: BuGS

For those of us who grew up in the 1970’s and 1980’s, there was a game that really took a lot of our quarters during the original arcade days. Centipede was a high speed game in which one had to kill all the bugs that came at them with bad intentions. The Centipede in particular was a nasty one that came down the screen at full speed sparing nothing to do away with the player.

Now that feeling of the high speed arcade game has returned once again with BuGS for the Apple IIGS. BuGS is the creation of Jeremy Rand of Rand-Emonium Software. BuGS is not only true to the original game but is full of the high speed love/hate affair that would take place in the arcade every afternoon after school. The difference is now you don’t have to lose your quarters by the boatload to play the game.

The game is available from Rand-Emonium Software’s webpage at:

You can also play the game online at Virtual Apple using the Waterfox Classic web browser and the ActiveGS Plugin:
