Onyx 3.8.1 Released

Onyx, the Mac OS system maintenance software produced by Titanium Software, has been updated. Version 3.8.1 includes a variety of fixes and updates including :

• Issue corrected that occurred when rebuilding the LaunchServices database
• Deleting the applications cache improved
• Some issues in the Parameters pane corrected
• Issue corrected when verifying the volume from a standard user
• Some parts of the source code have been optimized

Onyx takes care of a number of the cleanup of a number of functions on your Mac including:

  • verify the structure of the system files
  • run miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning tasks
  • configure parameters in the Finder
  • Dock, Safari, and some Apple applications
  • delete caches
  • remove certain problematic folders and files
  • rebuild various databases and indexes
  • and many other tasks

While version 3.8.1 will only run on Mac OS 10.15 Catalina, versions of the Onyx software are available for any major Mac OS going all the way back to Mac OS X Jaguar 10.2 on the Onyx webpage.
