Apple trademarks its Stores to deter copycats

A United Kingdom court ordered Apple to post an apology to Samsung for claiming that Samsung copied Apple’s iPad. iPad Mini Announcement Invites Sent Out by Apple, Inc.

Apple, Inc. sent out invitations to an October 23rd announcement event.  The event, scheduled to be held at the 1122 seat California Theatre in San Jose, has long been expected to be the introduction of the rumored iPad Mini.  Another rumor floating around is that Apple will introduce a smaller MacBook Pro at the event as well.

Apple Now Taking iPhone 5 Pre-Orders

Apple’s Store is now back online and taking orders for the new iPhone 5.   Apple’s Partners including AT&T, Verizon and Sprint are also taking pre-orders on their respective websites.  The iPhone 5 starts at $199.00 USD for the 16gb model and is scheduled to be available in 21 countries on the 21st of September. Apple Store Down in Preparation for iPhone 5 Pre-orders

The Apple Store has been taken down in preparation for the start of the iPhone 5 pre-orders.   While the phone was announced on the 12, actual shipping of the product will not begin until the 21st of the month.   Also, in coordination with the outage, AT&T has a counter on their website as well.   Apple is expecting that they will sell over 5 million units of the new iPhone 5 over the first three days they are available. http://store.apple.com/

Apple Event Introducing iPhone 5 now online

The Apple store went down at 12:00pm ET today.  No known reason for the outage is available, however, the message on the website circulates through multiple languages pointing to the possibility that it is a global outage for a possible website update or change. Apple Makes WWDC 2012 Videos Available to Developers

Thunderbolt Software Update Released by Apple

Apple has released an update to their Thunderbolt Software, bringing it to version 1.2.1. The latest version of the software adds the support for the Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter which comes as an option with the new Mac Book Pro. Apple Releases New iPad Commercial

In response to Microsoft’s release of their new “Surface” tablet, Apple has done exactly what one would expect they would do in lieu of a new product release.  Release a commercial. The new commercial entitled “Do it all”, highlights the capabilities of the iPad and takes a swipe at the Microsoft product without mentioning it by focusing squarely on the high density retina display.
