United States Air Force to Purchase 18,000 iPad 2’s

The United States Air Force has granted Apple, Inc. with a $9 Million USD contract to provide 18,000 iPad 2’s.   The iPad 2’s will be used by pilots and other pertinent staff in lieu of the normally carried heavy pilot bags and reams of flight maps.  The air force is getting quite the deal on the iPad 2’s with the price per unit being $520 USD per unit compared to the normal $599 USD.  They have contracted to receive the…

Proview now suing Apple in California

Proview, the China based bankrupt company which supposedly owns the iPad name is now suing Apple in California.  The company is still embroiled in a battle in mainland China, but no decision has been made there.   Proview is now accusing Apple of using deceptive practices in their purchase of the iPad name, thereby denying Proview fair value on the name. A user on the Apple Support Community, xUSR, reported that he received the following message today on his cell phone: “Apple needs iPhone5 testers:The first 1000 users who visit http://celltestnkeep.com and enter code 1000 will get to test & keep the new iPhone5.”  The message came from a phone number at 703.609.7910.  Obviously a scam, the user reported it to AT&T, however, he was told by them to contact Apple Inc. AAPL: Stock price soars to $499.20 in Pre-Market

Apple Inc (AAPL) has jumped to a sky high price of $499.20 USD per share in pre-market trading this morning.   While many analysts posted expected price per share of $550-$580 USD per share after profits were announced, the price was a bit slow in getting there until last week.  The stock had been trading in the $455-460 range the week before and then suddenly jumped to a high of $497.62 befor closing on Friday at $493.42 USD per share.

Apple Inc (AAPL) shares have been on a record tear over the past three trading days with the price currently trading at $472.65 USD per share or up $3.71 USD per share at Noon EST.  After pushing through the $474.00 USD per share price just after 10am, the price has pulled back.  The high of the day thus far was $474.21 per share.
