R&R Auctions has announced the release of a pre-production Apple II Motherboard (REV1) for auction on their site as part of their “Steve Jobs and the Apple Computer Revolution” auctions lot. The Motherboard auction started at $500 but is expected to draw bids of over $5,000. Programmer, Alexander Akhmetov, has released a new MOS 6502 Apple-1 Emulator. The new emulator was developed to run on both Linux and Mac OS X. One of the main features of this new emulator include the ability to use either the Apple1Basic Rom or the Replica-1 Rom. The new Steve Jobs movie opens today in a number of theaters today across the US. The Aaron Sorkin directed biopic has come under fire somewhat over the past several days as people began to see the previews. Now, with the release of the movie comes new full-length two-minute clip that highlights a confrontation between Wozniak and Jobs.

A working Apple-1 computer recently listed by Bonhams Auction House has sold for a world record 905,000 USD. This particular Apple-1, originally sold by the Byte Shop in Mountain View, Ca., was one of 50 hand built by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs in the famed Apple garage, is one of only 15 known to actually function. Auction House Bonhams has another Apple-1 in its possession which will be auctioned off on October 22nd. While there are approximately 60 of the Steve Wozniak created Apple-1 motherboards, only about a dozen or so have been shown to work.
