4K Integer BASIC Rom Card for the Apple-1

Chalk another win up for France in the technology wars. SiliconSlider is now selling a wonderful aesthetic Apple-1 Integer BASIC Rom Card with 4K.

According to the sales webpage on Tindie at:
https://www.tindie.com/products/siliconinsider/4kb-apple-1-integer-basic-rom-card/

You are purchasing a newly made 4kb ROM card preloaded with Integer BASIC for the Apple 1 computer. The board is manufactured in a double sided printed circuit board with out solder mask and fully gold plated and is professionally hand assembled. The 4kb EPROM (2732) comes pre-loaded with Apple 1 integer BASIC and is ready to use.

The creator of the card obviously spent more than a few minutes trying to make it look good and the goal was definitely accomplished:

Usage of the card with the Apple-1 is fairly straight forward and laid out well on the sales page for all users to see:

  • Insert the card in the Apple 1 expansion slot with the components facing outside.
  • The chip select area on the Apple 1 must be configured as follow. RAM: X wired to 0, W wired to 1, Expansion slot: S wired to E.
  • In Wozmon, enter E000R to load BASIC, a “>” prompt will appear.
  • Type your program following the Apple 1 BASIC commands.
  • Hit Reset to exit back to Wozmon. To re-enter BASIC without loosing current program use E2B3R.

Since there have been a fair number of Apple-1 clone boards made in the past 10-20 years and a number of original boards still running well, this is definitely a welcome addition to the cards already available for the Apple-1 computer. At the price of $29.00 USD and free standard shipping in the US, the card is even a better bargain. (Tracked mail is $6.00 additional)
