Apple has announced that the 31st rendidiotn of their World Wide Developer Conference will begin on June 22, 2020. This years event will be held in the digital realm and will begin with first ever Swift Student Challenge. All portions of the WWDC 2020 will occur online, however, further details are a bit spartan at this time. A bug in Facetime which allowed users to listen in on their contacts without the contact answering a call forced Apple, Inc. into firefighting mode today. Facetime Group Conferencing was taken offline and according to the status website is still offline. When Apple decided to move all of its China Based iCloud accounts to a chinese based partner company, Guizhou-Cloud Big Data (GCBD) , which is run by the local government, it also swept up a number of accounts which were US based. According to TechCrunch, this number is low but all the same is quite unalarming to Apple, Inc. who just meekly points to the terms of service as the basis for this overreach by the transfer of accounts.

Apple has announced that Peter Oppenheimer, the Senior VP and CFO, will call it a career in September. His retirement opens up a slow for the VP of Finance to move up. Luca Maestri will replace Peter beginning in June. Apple has released a minor update to the iOS operating system. iOS 7.0.5 is intended to primarily provide support for the networks run by China Telecom. This was necessitated by Apple’s recent agreement with China Telecom to provide the iPhone through them. The update addresses issues with the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5S connecting to the network. Apple Inc. has released an iOS App for the iPhone and iPad which will give all registered Apple developers access to the event. The 2013 edition of the WorldWide Developers Conference in San Francisco sold out in a record 71 seconds this year leaving many developers in the dark so to speak. A United Kingdom court ordered Apple to post an apology to Samsung for claiming that Samsung copied Apple’s iPad. Apple did follow the order but in the usual “Really?” type issuance, the posted apology reads more like a swift kick to the head of Samsung and the UK court system. Apple Inc. (AAPL) shares closed the trading day on wall street at $553.74 USD per share in after hours trading yesterday. The shares which had been trading mostly flat on the day made a slow steady climb in the 4pm to 8pm trading period. The United States Air Force has granted Apple, Inc. with a $9 Million USD contract to provide 18,000 iPad 2’s. The iPad 2’s will be used by pilots and other pertinent staff in lieu of the normally carried heavy pilot bags and reams of flight maps.
