When Apple decided to move all of its China Based iCloud accounts to a chinese based partner company, Guizhou-Cloud Big Data (GCBD) , which is run by the local government, it also swept up a number of accounts which were US based. According to TechCrunch, this number is low but all the same is quite unalarming to Apple, Inc. who just meekly points to the terms of service as the basis for this overreach by the transfer of accounts.
Apple has released a minor update to the iOS operating system. iOS 7.0.5 is intended to primarily provide support for the networks run by China Telecom. This was necessitated by Apple’s recent agreement with China Telecom to provide the iPhone through them. The update addresses issues with the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5S connecting to the network. Apple lost a decision last month in Shenzhen Province Court regarding the iPad naming rights in mainland China. The original filer of the name, Proview, apparently still owns the legal rights to the name iPad, in spite of their Taiwan subsidiary having sold the name to a British company, IP Applications.
