The floppies for the A2OSX multi-tasking operating system project have been updated. The update to the version 0.92 has been ongoing for several months now with all but two or three items remaining in the 0.91 version. The project is currently run by Remy Gibert with programming help from Patrick Kloepher. John Morris has announced that he is now taking orders for the 2nd run of the Applesauce Floppy Drive Controller. The Applesauce FDC allows users to digitally image their floppy disks (both personal and commercial) in the original format of the disk as it was created. Stepehen Heumann has announced the release of AFPBridge for the Apple IIgs. According to the announcement on CSA2, AFPBridge is “a tool that allows an Apple IIgs to connect to file servers using the Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) over TCP/IP. It works by using the existing AppleShare FST, but redirecting its network traffic over TCP/IP rather than AppleTalk.” AFPBridge is compatible with Apple IIgs’s with system 6.01 or later and a Network card compatible with Mainetti such as the Uthernet….

In a recent excursion into the A.P.P.L.E. storage boxes in Seattle, Brian Wiser discoverd a number of issues of our original Mac-A.P.P.L.E. magazine. The magazine which was published from 1986 to 1988 was A.P.P.L.E.’s attempt to differentiate the Mac from the Apple II computers, carry original content specifically attuned to the Mac computers. Apple has released a new version of the operating system for Intel based Macs. Mac OS X 10.9.3 increases apple’s support of 4K devices. Apple has announced that Peter Oppenheimer, the Senior VP and CFO, will call it a career in September. His retirement opens up a slow for the VP of Finance to move up. Luca Maestri will replace Peter beginning in June.
