A.P.P.L.E. Chairman of the Board and Club president -- Bill worked for the founder, Val J. Golding and A.P.P.L.E. from 1981 to 1982. In 1999, he began archiving the materials which were distributed and sold by A.P.P.L.E.. That project led to the group that remained of A.P.P.L.E. Bill was involved in the financial industry in Tokyo and has over 20 major office infrastructure projects to his name. In March 2001, he retired to write books and to spend more time pursuing personal interests. As the president of the users group, Bill is in charge of distribution of Call-A.P.P.L.E. magazine as well as the organization of this web site. Bill currently resides in Tokyo, Japan and Shelton, Wa splitting time between the places.

David Schmenk Releases TFTP Server for the Apple II

David Schmenk has released a new Trival File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server for the Apple II.  The release is part of his PLASMA Programming Language for the Apple II release.  To use the TFTP Server, boot the PLASMA System Floppy which you can download from the PLASMA Archive. Simply boot the floppy in your Apple II with Uthernet I or Uthernet II card installed. Once booted, you should see the PLASMA startup message. To run the TFTP server, type: +tftpd…

For many years, Brutal Deluxe’s Antoine Vignau has been running the Apple II Cassette  Repository, a site dedicated to gathering all of the Apple II software distributed on cassette tape.  With the additions to the site this week, the repository has reached a whopping 670 entries. PLASMA Version 1.1 Released

David Schmenck has released version 1.1 of PLASMA.   The programming environment which allows users to use a modern programming language on all of the vintage Apple computers, is the first new programming language for the Apple II in more than 30 years. AppleCommander 1.4.0 Has Been Released

For those of you who have suffered long with the old version of Apple Commander, your cries have been answered. AppleCommander 1.4.0, which allows users to manipulate Apple II Disk images, has now been released.   According to the new GitHub page, changes in the new package include: We migrated from SourceForge to GitHub. Update: Apple II Desktop Disassembly No Longer Available

Joshua Bell, creator of the online version of the Applesoft and Logo interpreters and curator of Calormen.com, has a new project.  The project, with full sources on GitHub, is a complete disassembly of the program known as Apple II Desktop or MouseDesk by Version Soft. Mini vMac Version 3.6 Alpha Source Code is now available from the Gryphel Project
