An interesting piece of video comes to us this morning from Antoine Vignau of Brutal Deluxe software. It is a project by French Professor Max Tournarie, who decided he could attach a card reader to the Apple II Euro back in the 1980’s. The reader simply sends binary code to the Apple II, either zeros or ones. While most readers of the era were fairly high speed, this one simply processes the cards in a slow but methodical manner. Check…

Once again I converted a 15″ Apple Color Monitor IIe to a modern display, using a 15″ color LCD screen. I had to cut lots of plastic from the front plastic panel of the IIe monitor, but didn’t compromise the integrity of the plastics and locking mechanism. To solve the main issue – the curved screen, I added a black cardboard pieces to close the gaps with the flat screen. after several tries found it was the best approach keeping…

While we normally do not talk about devices that are not Apple produced, this story of emulation caught our eye. Corbin Davenport has managed to get the Open Mini VMac III emulator to run on his Android Wear. While the sight of the old school Mac OS System 6.0.3 booting on an android device might be almost sacrilegious to the true Apple Fan, it is still pretty cool. However, at the same time, Corbin seems to be a bit finger…

For a long time I have been looking for the Apple //c Flat Panel LCD, one of the nicest items on the line. This monitor was short lived as its readability was poor and the item expensive. It was retired early so not many were produced, which is what makes them rare and sought today by collectors. I was lucky enough to be able to secure one, but quickly disappointed when first using it. I am a hands-on person that…

Version 2.0.1 of ADTPro has been released. This version has a fix that is important for users with native RS-232 serial ports (though they’re getting more and more rare all the time). There’s also some help for our friends that are trying to tune their audio settings, and a few other bug fixes. Initial text bootstrapping is faster due to some screen trickery and denser packing of data. http://adtpro.sourceforge.net 2.0.1 – March 21, 2015 New functionality: * [Audio] Client sends…
