In 1984, Apple Computer unleashed one of the most groundbreaking television commercials in history—a 60-second spot that not only introduced the Macintosh personal computer but also redefined advertising forever. Directed by renowned filmmaker Ridley Scott, the advertisement titled “1984” drew inspiration from George Orwell’s dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, portraying a heroic figure shattering the oppressive grip of conformity. Airing just once during the Super Bowl XVIII on January 22, 1984, it captured the imagination of millions and cemented Apple’s reputation…

In 2004, Bleu Rose, Ltd. released Black & Blue version 10, a product which was the combined work of three years of Gary Rice’s efforts. The software market was shrinking at the time and while the product was first class, many of the users were not. For those of us who are Apple and Macintosh fans, we are partial to our machines no matter what age they are. We always hate to see people destroy perfectly good machines. I think Luke Miani knows this as a real Macintosh fan as he has managed to turn an old iMac into an M1 Silicon based iMac with just a few turns of the screw. Having an old iMac and a new M1 Mac Mini, Luke has decided that…

Our friends over at Inaudible Discussion came up with a way of getting Mac OS 9 and older Mac OS X (10.0-10.4) running on the Silicon based M1 Mac’s with QEMU. While this kind of hard core install is not for everyone, with QEMU as the main focus of the install, it just goes to prove that where there is a will, there is a way, when it comes to emulation and retro operating systems on the newer machines. Check…
